Kohl's Department Store Goes Green in Alaska

Kohl's, one of the largest retailers in the US, is going green in Alaska. The specialty department store chain chose Federal Heath Sign Company to manufacture and install a new prototype LED letterset sign for its Anchorage location, the first Kohl's in Alaska.

In keeping with their 'green scene' initiatives, Kohl's chose LEDs to light the signs. The LEDs have proven reduced energy consumption, with the added feature of not dimming in cold weather. Another consideration was the LEDs ease of service and maintenance (vs. neon), especially important in this area of the country, said Federal Heath's Sales Executive Bill Schwalbach.... Water District Welcomes Governor’s Call to Address Water Crisis

The Santa Clara Valley Water District Monday welcomed California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s call to act now to resolve the state’s water crisis, including fixing the fragile Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

The water district CEO Stan Williams, who joined the Governor at his news conference (view video) in front of an almost empty San Luis Reservoir, said that the Delta, which delivers water to the reservoir, is in crisis.
