Marina Consultancy for Eastside Project, Gibraltar

Marina Projects is delighted to announce that the company has been retained to provide marina consultancy advice as a member of the professional team engaged on the Eastside Project in Gibraltar. This major waterfront development is being promoted by the Government of Gibraltar and MCB (Gibraltar) Ltd, the company appointed as preferred developer by the Government of Gibraltar following a detailed tender process.

Marina Projects's role includes providing specific guidance on all marina related issues with input into the master planning, detailed design and associated Environmental Impact Assessment. Topics covered include the following:

Marina infrastructure requirements

Wave climate and design dredge depths

Concept design for the marina

Market assessment and berth mix analysis

Services and fuelling strategy

Boutique cruise liner berth

Strategy for the delivery of services and fuel

Security and communications

Marina valuation and selection of optimum marina scheme

Phasing of the marina development

In total the scheme will incorporate up to 2,200 apartments, a 500 berth marina with 'boutique' cruise liner berth and terminal and a 300 bed 4-star hotel. The professional team includes Halcrow consulting engineers and Foster's Architects. The development programme is anticipated to extend over a 10-year period and will result in inward investment into Gibraltar exceeding £1 billion.
