About The Book
Cajun Mariners is a narrative history of the workboat industry that follows four French-speaking trailblazers as they buy and build boats in pursuit of the American dream. Beginning in the late 1930s, and racing against time and competition, the men export Cajun ingenuity from the Persian Gulf to the Arctic Circle. Lauded for his novelistic style, the author brings to life the colorful Cajuns behind the world's largest tugboat company--how the fleets were built and at what human cost.
