Shoestring Commerce Now Providing Free Order Form Generation for Suppliers
"We have been receiving a variety of pricelists, catalogs, and order forms for quite some time and we've noticed that the forms are often rushed together at the last minute in an effort to make pricing available before a show. Many times smaller suppliers don't have the time to build an order form, being forced to rely on their reps to do this tedious administrative work for those who request electronic order forms.
"The result is typically messy, with order forms delivered to retailers in a hundred different formats which can add confusion to the buying process. We standardize this method of ordering for both the retailer and the supplier. And since we read these pricelists into our software for our retail clients anyway, why not take just one more automated step to produce a clean, usable order form that can also benefit the supplier?" asked Kennedy.
"We hope that in offering this service for free, we can even further increase our large selection of supplier catalogs for our retail clients."
Over the last five years, Shoestring's team of software developers have analyzed and translated over 2,200 catalogs and order forms into their retail ordering system, which places them in the unique position of knowing which formats work most effectively for wholesale ordering and why.
Their new order form features options beyond just size and quantity--it includes a summary of products broken down by category to help give the manufacturers' clients key information that makes ordering simple, every time.
Shoestring Commerce launched this free service to their existing customers on May 6th and has now extended it to all wholesalers. Shoestring's customers have already begun seeing the benefits.
"It saves me so much time to be able to place an order from a catalog compared to when the supplier does not provide this data and I have to enter it all manually. I feel like I'm going back in time 10 years when I'm forced to plug this stuff in myself. We've gotten to the point where if the supplier doesn't provide catalogs to Shoestring, we have second thoughts about even placing the order," said Sean Robinson from Emage Network.
Those interested in having Shoestring Commerce generate order forms for their retailers can email their pricelist to catalogs @ shoestringcommerce.com, and the order form will be returned within a few business days free of charge.
