Survey: Most Non-Profits Risk Losing Growth Opportunities Due to Underinvestment in Key Operational Areas

Common Impact, a nonprofit organization that is helping global corporations and local non-profits build stronger communities through employee engagement programs, announced today that a new survey shows most non-profits do not invest enough money in critical organizational areas such as IT, finance and marketing, leaving them vulnerable to stagnation and threatening their ability to serve their communities.

Operating budgets, volunteers fall short

The survey of 132 social service organizations with revenues between $500,000 and $5 million shows that, unlike the corporate sector, which invests heavily in infrastructure and employee development, non-profits rarely have the resources to devote to organizational effectiveness. Great Financial Mortgage President Talks Rapid Re-Score With ABC7 News

ABC7 news consumer specialist Ric Romero interviewed Gavin Fenske, President of Great Financial Mortgage, www.greatfinancialmortgage.com , about the Rapid Re-Score option. Rapid re-scoring allows customers seeking mortgage financing the opportunity to immediately repair erroneous information that is currently on the credit report and boost their scores in about 5-7 days. This can mean getting better interest rates and better terms on a loan versus taking a sub-prime loan that offers higher rates and uncomfortable terms. Asked why this is an important feature, Fenske explained that rates and programs are based upon a client's credit score. Typically, through regular channels, it would take a consumer 2-3 months to repair their credit going directly through the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion).... When it comes to weight loss, counting calories is as important as counting fats, protein, and carbs, and more significant when the food plan closely resembles your normal diet. Such are the findings of the largest controlled study published this week in the New England Journal of Medicine, Comparison of Weight-Loss Diets with Different Compositions of Fat, Protein, and Carbohydrates.

Comprised of 811 overweight and obese adults, the Study measured the weight loss results of 4 diets, low fat versus high fat and average protein versus high protein and in comparison of highest and lowest carbohydrate content. Regardless of diet composition, all participants reduced their caloric intake by 750 calories a day, exercised 90 minutes a week, and underwent intense behavioral counseling. All 4 diets resulted in participants losing weight and reducing the risk factors for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Weight loss was more significant among those whose Study diet closely resembled the composition of their normal diet. After 12 months, however, all groups, on average, slowly regained body weight....
