Find Your Core Values: Core Mac OS X Bootcamp Returns to the Big Nerd Ranch June 13-17, 2005
Instructor Mark Dalrymple said, "Core Bootcamp delves into the nuts and bolts behind Mac OS X and Unix. Many Unix-based classes will give an overview, but this is an opportunity for students to really understand the conceptual framework through which applications are developed and function on a network. It doesn't get much better than this."
The course textbook, a joint project between Mark Dalrymple and Aaron Hillegass, is Core Mac OS X and Unix Programming. This book has been hailed by critics as one of the fundamental texts available on advanced Mac OS X programming. The course follows the basic outline provided by the book, providing an overview of key elements of programming in this environment, while also addressing potential snafus that might arise during development.
Mark Dalrymple has been a Mac programmer since 1985 and a Unix programmer since 1990. As a Mac developer, Mark contributed to the AOL 3.0 client and served as chief architect of an internal publishing tool for Mac AOL. As a Unix developer, he contributed code and developer documentation to the Galaxy cross-platform toolkit. Currently, Mark co-locates and manages a Linux server and is the author of the BOLTS technical columns at MacEdition.
