matthew daus lawsuit

Matthew W. Daus, Commissioner of the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission, permanently revoked the TLC license of Eric Darko and fined him $3700 as a result of his behavior regarding passenger (Playboy Centerfold) Stephanie Adams.

Sanford Rubenstein, attorney for Stephanie Adams, stated: "This revocation sets an example for other taxi drivers that, if you behave in the fashion Eric Darko did when dealing with a passenger, you will lose your right to drive a taxi. Hopefully the Commissioner's action will act as a deterrent so that what happened to Stephanie Adams will not happen to any other person in this city."

Since then, four of the police officers who assaulted Adams during the incident have been identified and are thoroughly being investigated. Adams filed a five million dollar lawsuit after the incident, which occurred on May 25, 2006.
